Color Choices for Caliper Paint

I always find it funny that people are afraid to modify the look of a car based on what other people think. Just do what you want and be happy with it.

FWIW, I painted my (Guards Red) base Cayman brake calipers yellow and it looks amazing. Find a color you like, and run with it!

How much USD $ would this cost? Both professionally and if one wanted to do this personally. I remember someone doing it themselves on here but I can’t find that post.

I looked again at mine last night. They don’t look chalky but the matte finishing on the black calipers certainly doesn’t stand out and I’m sure is more worn vs when new. For context, I’m pretty good Re washing/cleaning wheels and wheel wells every wknd, and a full wash/ceramic spray boost every 3 weeks. Wheels and calipers were ceramic coated too.

I use Gtechniq wheel cleaner and wash products. Both say safe for coats.
I did mine myself using the VHT Caliper spray paint. I'll tell you that while they ended up turning out really good, the paint instructions don't really align with the downtime needed to let the paint cure.

If you do it yourself, I'd suggest a few key items. First, remove the calipers and do it off the car. You'll need to anyway if you want to "bake" the calipers per the paint instructions. Second, make sure you do a really good job prepping the surface to be painted. Third, if you don't have a way to truly plug your calipers, drain them so you don't have leaking fluid after you apply paint. Lastly, plan on letting them cure for several days. The VHT paint is very soft and you can scuff it up really easily within the first few days. Lastly, I bought some high temp Porsche decals in the same size/format to apply after the paint cured.

If you have a week or so, it's not a bad project to do yourself.

Hey Chris, I just did a Google search for Porsche break decals high temp. I got the dimensions off of my calipers and made sure they were the same that I ordered. The font was identical and so far they're holding up just fine from the heat.

Unfortunately I don't have a link to that website anymore, but it was just some random site that popped up with a generic search.
