What was the symbol? Was it telling you it was running too hot or that your coolant level was too low? Either way I hope you stopped driving & turned off the engine, because simply ignoring it could risk engine damage. If you check the coolant level & it's correct then you need to immediately contact your nearest Porsche dealer. Do not drive the vehicle without checking with the OPC first as they may very possibly advise for the vehicle be recovered to them by Porsche assistance. If the coolant was too low, you can top it up but should still insist on the system being fully checked over by a Porsche technician. A nine day old car simply shouldn't have low coolant levels & you really need to find out what's behind it.
It was the water temp symbol (in white) . I'll be heading to the dealership this morning !

Ah good, I was just a bit worried for you. Unfortunately you didn't provide the full information regarding the actual type of warning or indeed the colour. :)
thanks Chilli, been to the dealer and had a crack in a hose. New part fitted and on my way. Fingers crossed no more warning lights.

Fantastic news & at least it was a very simple fix. Now go out & enjoy! :D

well, i've had my first good drive in my 718 Cayman. Amazing little car. I changed from 997.2 C4S and went back to Cayman . The 718 is my 3rd Cayman and i am amazed. This little car is all you need. Incredible handling, equally as quick as the 997.2 C4S , but sport response is just irresistible .
I'm glad you are back on the road!

Do you know anything more about the coolant leak, such as the location (front radiator, underbody lines, or engine/pump hose)? I'm curious if it was a manufacturing defect or installation error.
definitely a manufacturing defect. the hose had split
I had something similar on the 2017CS I got about 3 weeks ago. Car had 120 miles from dealer test rides and shortly after purchase gave me the error. Issue was a loose connection and overfilled coolant. Annoying but ultimately minor to deal with. Car has been fine since the dealer fixed it.
