I just received a marketing email from Porsche announcing an alliance between Porsche and Lucasfilm to create an "iconic starship design".
Say what?
"For decades, it seemed like Porsche and Star Wars influenced each other from afar."
Uh, no. It didn't. Unless one thinks racing and moving cameras past big models really, really close is somehow related.
Then I saw the Taycan ad at the bottom and it all added up: shameless movie plug, like a can of Coke on the table of a scene in a crime drama.
I doubt this is the company that Ferry built, and is rapidly moving away from the "small, lightweight, yet highly efficient sports cars" the email claims were its genesis.
Sigh.
