Just traded my 718 Boxster S for a 991.2 Carrera S. On start-up, the air con comes on as default and I have to manually turn off. Also, in the multi-function display, it defaults to Vehicle Information so I have to manually change it to my preferred Trip Computer. Previous cars always defaulted to Air Con Off and Trip Computer when starting up. Anyone advise me please on how to change these settings. I thought I could set up as such using the seat memory package but doesn't seem to workt. Think I'm a bit thick.

I think all you have to do is set up the car like you would want it then hit the set button on the door followed by the key button. Listen for the beep. This will save your preferences except for a few things Porsche thinks are safety related. This is how my 2017 718S works, but who knows maybe AC is safety related because of the adrenaline rush you get when you start up that beast! :)

Thanks. I think you've got it. I was setting the memory but not following through with the key button and set again. It worked the first couple of times but then reverted on crank up to turning the ac on. Probably me though cos set it up again and seems to be OK, air con off and multi-function on trip. Time will tell.

Ha Ha, it is a beast but then so was the 718S, not a lot of difference in power (acceleration and speed as opposed to BHP) but I have to say I do prefer the six cylinder soundtrack, even with the slight whistle you get from the 991.2 turbos. I do miss the 718's nimble handling a bit. This is more of a grand tourer than roadster, ever so smooth which is good on trips. I found the 718 a bit rough, but sometimes that's good!

My previous 718 was without Memory and Set and had the full 2-way auto climate control. I'm pretty sure the ac and fan only came on to whatever it was on when ignition last turned off. If it was left on Auto then the fan would activate to sort temperature out, even with AC button off. But if just left on Synch with AC off like mine with fan on only the first notch, that's how it started up. Could be a UK thing though.
