In theory it just to disconnect the vacuum tube since the valve is open without a vacuum.
But, the valve will not work after a year or two since it never moves. (based on 987 and 981)

the macan people disconnect the electric plug to the solenoid that actuates the vacuum. i think that's an easier thing to do. I looked around on my car but i couldn't trace the vacuum line far back enough to find it. It might require uncovering the top of the engine.

I would like to know as well. I tried the golf tee mod the other day but the vacuum line is braided steel and I do not see where it can be easily disconnected. I would prefer to unplug the solenoid as well. Any idea where it's located?
