...besides light up three blue LEDS? Mine doesn’t seem to do much. I’ve only had this feature in two other cars...an SL600 that just blew hot air and an IS250C convertible that most definetly cooled the seats off.

Trying to decide if it’s worth a workshop visit or not. If you guys say meh, then probably the latter...

Yes. Oh my gawd yes. The effect is subtle, but it helps immensely.

It is currently 108 degrees in Dallas. You have no idea how glad I am to have those ventilated seats waiting for me when I leave the office in an hour or so.

The key is they are "ventilated" to my understanding, not actually cooled.

So they just blow air (not sure how much) at interior temp vs using the AC to force cool/cold air through them. It can make a difference, but don't expect miracles. As Viffermike said - it's subtle In my drive in one with the ventilated seats I could notice it and it helped keep the perspiration on the back down, but it wasn't dramatic. It was in a Boxster and it was in the low 90s and we have the AC running with the top down. Cayman or Boxster with the top up may lead to different results.

i do love the actual cooled seats on my wife's qx80 on a toasty day! They use a separate compressor it seems from the main AC as I can hear it come one when the seats are in cooling mode yet the main HVAC system is not in a cooling or heating setting - just vented air from outside.

One thing they told met at PEC - it actually pulls air, it doesn't push it. Which I found interesting. It does seem to work.
I laid a piece of paper on the seat and turned on the ventilation and it sucked the paper down onto the seat. So, yep, definitely pulling air down.

I agree it's subtle, but it's helpful on hot days for sure.

The seat ventilation definitely makes a difference, and I love. My SA explained that the system is a series of fans that draws air in from under the seat and expels it out through the holes in the seat cushion and back. I have not tried the "paper test", but it feels to me like air is being blown out, not sucked in, as I can feel air on my neck at times. Just like keyless entry and seat memory, I will never get another car without ventilated seats.

The ventilated seats in my wife’s Boxster didn’t seem to be working either so I took it to the dealer to have it checked. They said that everything was working as it should. They specified that the seats will work better if you have the A/C vents pointed to the floor. So instead of just using the upper vents press the button that also directs cold air to the floor. I tried and the seats do work better. Not as good as the ventilated seats in my Corvette but they do work better in the Porsche with cold air near the floor.

Agree. I have black leather. I didn't order my car and it's slim pickings with manual CGTS's. Most are PDK. This and a few other options, I felt were a waste of coin, but there were no other new CGTS manuals in acceptable colors, so I took it. I'm very glad I have this. On a long drive or if you don't want the AC on when it's 80 or above, this is a great thing. I only use it on low setting. Unlike others I've had, there's no noise on low at all and not much on the other two settings. Low should be enough to make a difference...It dries you out nicely and that can be a very good thing.

I dont fin the heated/venting seats work as strong as say my BMW 650 Gran Coupe. They do work but not super strong in warm/cool. I still use them though as it does make a small difference.
