Touching the Playlists icon brings up some choices like Current (or Currently playing?), Most played, *, **, *, etc. I can understand Most Played, I think. There seems to be no way to mark a song with a star or give it a thumbs up, and in any case I'd want to rate entire albums, not individual tracks.

Truth be told, I come from a generation where you didn't have a "playlist", you played an album in the order the artist laid down the tracks. And as a musician I spend some thought into the order of songs on the CD's our band has created, and then hear people tell us they just put their mp3 player on shuffle. (So why did we bother?)

Anyway, my real goal is to have the Jukebox play a selection of CD's of my choice rather than automatically jump to the next CD in the Jukebox as soon as the last song in the current one is finished. That can produce some jarring style juxtaposition!

Yes, I miss those days as well. The album was like reading a good book. It wasn't just a collection of songs, it was assembled with care and the flow of the album was very important.

I have all my favorites recorded onto an SD card including album art. They are organized by folder. Some folders are artist specific, like "The Beatles", "Steely Dan" , "Little Feat" ........ others are by genre. An example of that would be "Jazz Mix 1", or "Classic Rock 2". I also utilized the "my screen" feature, where you can customize your layout. I do love having all my favorites at my fingertips. Now I just need to find a good shop I trust to hot rod this sound system with some high end speakers, a small footprint sub enclosure, and a good multi channel amp with DSP.

Thanks for the reply. I also have my CDs arranged in folders. However when I push the Media button the "Player" screen comes up with all of them arranged in one row in some order I've not bothered to decipher. I can touch the Browse icon to see the folders and then select a CD then select the first song it to play, but when that CD is over I believe it just jumps to the next CD shown in the Player row. If I could define a Playlist's contents then select it the consecutive songs would be what I want.

FWIW and pertinent to different threads in this subforum, I have the Bose system and am quite happy with it. I spent ten years as an engineer at Lexicon so I know good audio from bad and I understand the concept of masking. With so much engine and tire noise in the car I'd have to crank the volume so high to hear subtly on some roads that I'd be afraid of the long-term effect on my hearing! When an audiologist tested my hearing she said it was quite good for someone of my generation (! - I think she was referring to the stuff folks used to listen to) and for a working musician. Still, I don't need power noise in the car, even if it was written by Mozart. There is a time for appreciative listening even in the car, such as having a picnic at wildlife refuge, and for that the Bose system is fine. For volume enough to hear NPR on my commute, it's also fine. For listening to, say, Eric Clapton or Earl Scruggs at concert levels, ah, that is better done at home! And not very often!

I "think" after the CD selected finishes, the next CD in the folder plays, if you did Browse then folder then CD.

I'm a musician also, and surprised I still have excellent hearing. I learned years ago to not stand directly in front of my Marshall Stack :) Thank God I transitioned away from that monster to a low profile cabinet that doesn't fire right into my ear level. I never wore headphones cranked to outrageous levels in my youth, pretty much never wore phones at all. I think that's one reason I can still hear well with decent high frequency extension.

The Bose I find ok up to about 45 to 50 MPH, after that it runs out of headroom for me.

I want to figure out a way to randomly play songs by a particular artist. For example, I have 7 or so Springsteen albums, and sometimes I just want to randomly play some of his music. I can shuffle individual albums, but I can't shuffle all of his tracks on the jukebox. I guess I could create a play list for Springsteen (and other artists), but like the OP, I don't know how to do it on the Bose system.
