my 718 Boxster does not have twin exhausts nor does it have a sport exhhaust button.

in sport mode is burbles and sounds much deeper. otherwise fairly quiet (almost too quiet) in normal mode, hence always driving it in sports mode.

is there any such thing as exhaust flaps in the 718 that i could manually alter to remain open at all times for deeper sound even in normal mode?

thanks.

you can use a piece of wire to keep the valve open all the time. you can also disconnect the vacuum line and plug it with a stopper. you can also disconnect the wiring harness from the actuator that opens and closes the vacuum to that line.

whilst i am grateful for a prompt and detailed response with different options, i am left wondering how the **** i administer this technical and extremely challenging amendment lol

will share your message in our forthcoming meet up and seek help from (new and more knowledgable than me) friends there. i'm only good at vacuuming, waxing and washing and of course driving !

really pleased to hear these changes can be made.

sorry, i didn't read the OP completely. i was assuming you had the sports exhaust because you were asking about keeping the flaps open.

PSE on 718 does not ad much, it is next to nothing!
So an aftermarket design would be the best way to go.

You can have the flap open all the time as stated above but it is not a good idea cause the flap will get seized.
What you can do is to move the sleeve that connects the mufflers and have a 1-3mm gap.
It is a common hack on 981 :)

many thanks Johan.

unfortunately my technical abilities seem to be of a 3 year old. i am annoyingly unable to comprehend.

nevermind and don't bother trying to simplify. you have been helpful enough. i need to educate myself (somehow).

thank you Mike, also....

best. sam.
