My 2017 718 Boxster base has 31,000 miles and the warranty is over in a month. I was going to buy a 2021 Boxster S but there is not enough difference between the two cars so I have decided to keep the 2017. What is the groups opinion on getting the Porsche extended warranty. They said a 2 year warranty will cost around $3,000. I live in CA and not sure I can get the warranty from another company.

I usually counsel against extended warranties as they typically generate an income for the seller, and Australian consumer protection laws are pretty comprehensive.
However, I just purchased one for my 2017 Boxster base because in the grand total of expenditure the cost wasn't extreme and car companies aren't known for voluntarily obeying our laws nor is the Consumer Court easy to engage for individual claims. I just figured it would save hassles and the possible purchase of a lawyer.

I personally would not pay $3000 to extend the warranty on a four year old car, driven 7500 miles per year, for two additional years. My gut feeling, and it's just my gut feeling, is there's little to no chance you will have an issue in the next 15,000 miles, much less $3000 or more in repairs. I might be inclined to pay $3000 to cover me from 60,000 to 100,000 miles, but nothing short of that.
