I covered mine in a plastic coating that resembles carbon fiber. but it's not metallic.

Sometimes I keep it in the front door pocket and hold it up to the windshield when I go thru the toll booth.

So many people have tried to say this here but I have to point out, this behavior will get you pulled over for a ticket around here. then you get busted for not having the front license plate mounted.
So, which part will get you pulled over?
Having it covered in plastic or having it NOT displayed at all times. ( When on a toll road)

since many states have toll by plate, the Po-Po wouldn't have a way of knowing how you were being billed.

And what state would do this? I would not think they would regard this as a Primary Offence, Maybe ticket you for that also, after pulling you over for something else.

. However, on my account the transponder is linked to Bumblebee. Having one vehicle makes issue moot but for those of us with multi rides.....
My transponder is registered to ( and normally resides in) the truck, but it is also registered to be used in the Cayman and the 914.

The link provided by GTS18BGTS in post #13 is for a suction cup mount for the transponder.

I purchased two of them and keep one in the side pocket of the Cayman, When I will be taking the Cayman on the toll road I just stick it to the windshield.

This works perfectly.
