Hello

I was thinking of getting the Fabspeed Streetsport Catback Exhaust system and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on these. or if you have it installed, how do you like it.

I am also looking for an aftermarket exhaust. I wasnt too impressed tbh. If you go on youtube and search FI exhaust for 718, it sounds nicer on video. There is also an AWE exhaust which I thought sounded better..
Decided not to go with FabSpeed after talking to good reliable Porsche mechanic in the Bay Area. He will not touch these exhausts, so made my decision very clear not to go with this product. I will wait and maybe take a trip to Sharkwerks in Fremont and get their opinion.

Maybe looking at Tubi exhaust now.
any indication of why he won't touch these exhausts?

the setup looks fairly simple here. not a lot that can go wrong.

He said a lot times its the fitment on these aftermarket parts and since the 718 is fairly new, these aftermarket products may see some problems in the future, he recommended TUBI and will get me the info i need for my 718 and what would be the best exhaust system..

He said if you are going to change the factory exhaust, then upgrade it to a more reputable product, instead of a sub-par product. I agree with him on that.
Tubi's bling, though. pointlessly expensive.

I'll look into AWE.
i ordered the full exhaust from fabspeed on halloween. it was supposed to ship to me on 11/17. 11/21 it was still not built and no one decided to tell me nor did they tell me it was over 2 weeks lead time from when i placed my order. then i read a thread over on rennlist about some really crappy customer service someone had for a simple broken tip on their car (weld failure) and the next day i called and cancelled the order they still had not finished or shipped. buyer beware.
That Fabspeed exhaust looks clean, simple, and sporty. I can't imagine they got it wrong. It's not like Fabspeed makes Honda Civic parts and this their first highline car. It's not as reputable as AWE, but they have made a name for themselves. I have had several tuned and modified cars. From mild tunes to All out builds. Exhaust only comes down to a few things:
1- Do you like the sound
2- Does it create any additional power
3- Does it look good to your taste
4- has to be a reputable brand to make sure the exhaust isn't holding the engine back from making power, but hopefully opening it up to allow it to make additional power.
I won't be getting an exhaust for my future 718 (simply because it's a lease), but I would like to get the duel tips, wheel spacers, aftermarket springs, and an ECU tune. All or most of those parts would be sold probably here when the car would be ready to go back.
I wouldn't worry too much about buying Fabspeed. I would just find some soundsclips online to see if you like the sound.
Now as far as customer service, I have no idea... Based on what nineball said, I would look to read reviews online about Fabspeed before placing the order. My opinion, what nineball said would be my only concern...

I been looking at that same set up, I have a local muffler shop that does great work, I think he can do the same for $800 or so, I can't see spending $1800 with no mufflers or resonators, this would save me $1000 :) I'm going to give it a try, i'll post some pictures and video of the sound when its done.

@TESTDRyVer
wouldn't the ECU tune void your lease warranty? unless they can put it back to stock..?
you don't think the fabspeed catback system could be sold easy? just like the other parts mentioned?
My dealer told me to avoid them. I went with awe, but am selling now (on eBay) I want pse

Pretty sure I am the one bidding on your used exhaust.
Yup. Lol. The install instruction are on awes site.

Why did you end up selling AWE for PSE? You wanted the extra crackles and pops?

Now that PSE is standard should I not bother getting an aftermarket exhaust? I figured the extra noise would still be worth it even if I already have PSE.
I was going to get the PSE, but got a decent price on the Remus exhaust and it sounds really good. I have a thread on here taking about it. The awe quality is very good, but it was too loud for my wife, and it had a slight drone around 50mph, which is my average speed to work. The Remus doesn’t have it and sounds refined. If you are getting a new 718, since they do come with PSE stock, I would drive with that and see what you think. A downpipe will also change the tone, and free up power as well as increase turbo spool time.

Yeah, I have a feeling I will end up just sticking with the PSE. As awesome as it would be to get something aftermarket to make the car more unique, it's going to be my daily driver so having it a bit quieter and knowing it's OEM quality is just too valuable.
Fabspeed sold me an exhaust for my M4 that had fitment issues. They did refund the purchase price after a fair amount of back and forth, but not the shipping which wasn't insignificant.
