I agree. But you’re also telling me you don’t know for sure.
I have a Macan GTS with the door stickers and they are applied over the clear coat. PORSCHE DOES NOT APPLY STICKERS ONTO THE PAINT BEFORE CLEAR COATING. I know for sure.

I can't think of any manufacturer that would apply clear coat over a vinyl graphic - the edges would show, plus if the vinyl had any adhesion issues, it would affect the clear coat
It would be overly complicated, make zero sense, and be completely stupid.

Exactly!

Vinyl will expand and contract with temperature changes - and the clear coat would "fracture" where the vinyl / metal surface is - that's why no one does it that way.

if the intent is to clear over a stripe - it would be painted, then clear coat over.

And many makers charge 4 digit to 5 digit prices (for painted stripes) since that's an extra step to mask, paint stripes and then clear over the paintwork.

vinyl graphics are more cost effective and in the event of any body / paint damage, far easier to repair in the field
