I curbed my rims a long time ago and wanted to get it back to lookin spiffy. I called a wheel refinishing shop around LA who told me that they could NOT repair the rims with the OEM silver color (citing all of USA does not have access to the color). I was wondering if anyone else ran into this hiccup or can confirm if that statement is true. If it is, are my only options to refinish my entire wheel set in a new color?

Every paint color can be scanned to get the perfect match. No need to repaint all wheels.

If you take the wheel centre cap off the paint code is on the back.

It sounds to me like they don't want the job. I'd be trying a different shop.

I was told a similar thing regarding the wheels on my SEAT LEON as they are Satin gunmetal grey. They suggested that the result would be close but not exact and they suggested doing both on that side (so they looked the same) In the end I left it as it was such a minor scuff.

We have a wheel finishing/repair shop where I live that does Porsche wheels all the time so why they won't/can't do it is strange. Porsche sells the rim protection package and it's not like they just put a new rim on the car, or at least I don't think they do, so someone has to be fixing the rims.
