It must be fun and yet a bit intimidating to have this guy show up to a race that you’re in. “Well, there goes first place”.

 

Many years ago at a friend's birthday party we went as a group to a go kart track. My buddy was neighbors and friends with AJ Foyt IV (this was while he was a current Indy car driver). It was mildly intimidating waiting in line with this guy having his professional racing helmet in hand and people asking for his autograph.

Not during that video. I believe that is race footage. He had a few laps with an instructor in a car ahead earlier. The instructor had more power but was on street tires, while Max was on slicks. Guess who "won" the corner battles?

 

I was hoping to see more onboard footage of him driving. Max seemed to be on limit for all the flybys.
