Hi all, I've searched across this and other forums high and low and I'm none the wiser, any advice would be much appreciated from you bunch.

I specified my CGTS with Isofix as I want to take my 2-3 year old boy out with me as he loves 'Daddies Porsche', now that I'm the lucky Dad of a 4 day old boy too the need to zip away with my oldest and leave mum in some peace is very much needed.

So a combination of choice paralysis and sleep deprivation brings me here -- any advice would be much appreciated!

I used Recaro child seats in my 987 CS. They worked really well - both for forward and rearward facing seats, and with the full harness and then later with the seat belt. I had Porsche install a passenger airbag deactivation switch so I could manually turn off the airbag when necessary. I assume such an option would also exist for the 718.

@UKGTS : ISOFIX is an option in the EU. The standard has not been used in the U.S. since the late 1990s.

Please see this article for more information ...

... and everyone: PLEASE, again, contextualize your question with a location when asking questions such as this. All it does is lead to confusion.

I know you love giving feedback, so consider your tone, it has affected my engagement in this forum.

As I mentioned I was just after a bit of help after my wife gave birth. Some advice rather than being patronised would be much more helpful. I know you like to reclassify posts too so feel free to link to the feedback section too.

Apologies for my tone. Part of the reason I contextualized the statement as for 'everyone' was to temper that. Please keep in mind that part of my job as Moderator is to steer members toward better and more efficient forum use for everyone. Lack of location context is one of the issues that serially occurs here.

As you're aware, there are many major differences in vehicular standards between Europe and North America -- the differences in child-seat standards on either pond shore is a major example of this. Thing is, many aren't aware of that because they don't have young children (the only reason my child-less self is aware of it is because of friends who have moved between continents who couldn't use child seats they already owned). I was merely trying to head off the inevitable 'What the heck is an ISOFIX seat?' question from U.S. owners.

Thank you for understanding, and again: my apologies -- and congrats on the 'new addition'. :)
