Greetings All,

The fuel gauge on my 2018 CGTS always showing low fuel. My dealer suspects the fuel sensor is not working properly and needs to be replaced. They order the parts and told me its under warranty. I noticed this after my track accident. when they repaired the car they did not notice this issue , even when they extended my warranty.

Anyone experiencing the same issue ?

Thanks.

Quick update:

Fuel sensor issue fixed now, dealer had to replace the whole fuel package, its all under warranty, they said they rarely have this issue in a cayman, they suspect its from the track accident I had before, but they fixed it under warranty anyway, very good.

when I picked my car they hand me the key of a 718 GT4 for a test drive, first impressions as follow:

  1. The manual gearbox is amazing, this is my first time to drive a Porsche with manual gearbox. just wow.
  2. The exhaust note is much better compared to my 718 GTS, however, after 2000 RPM the valve closed which makes the car really quite, even compared to my GTS. The sound is rubbish when the sport exhaust is off, however when its on and the valves opened, its sound really good, no pops or bangs so what's soever which feels really strange to my ears compared to the GTS.
  3. Surprisingly, the ride quality is similar to my GTS I was expecting harder ride.
  4. The gearing is really long and torque does not kicks in until above 6000 RPM which is completely different behaviour compared to the 718 GTS, you can drive in 2 and 3 gear all the time, once you get excited you are already above speed limits and difficult to enjoy in a daily drive.
  5. The front bumper is really low, I took it home to see if it will scratch when I park inside the garage and it did, the car really needs a front lift system, very difficult to deal with, if Porsche add it this option similar to the GT3, would be perfect.

Bottom line, the 718 GT4 is amazing, and got me thinking to replace my 718 GTS, however, once I picked up my car I changed my mind.

I will wait until the 718 GT4 RS with a PDK will be available.
