Yes, I know it is a sports car and a sports car shouldn't be practical but, compared to other sport cars, it is quite practical.

I'm not planning to take it on trips with lots of language but I do need it for one task that requires some capacity.

Did anyone had a, chance to try and fit a 20 bottles of 0.5L hard box into the trunk/frunk? I actually need to fit three of them :ROFLMAO:.

I mean something like that?

I assume that I'll manage somehow using the passenger seat but prefer to put them in the trunk.

Thanks and sorry for the weird question :)

For what I know even the miniscule trunk in the Mazda MX-5 "Miata" ND will hold a case of beer, in fact I have heard stories that the trunk of it was designed to carry either a case of beer (german standard size with 0.5L bottles), a standard size umbrella or two pcs. of carry-on luggage.

The 718 is larger than the "Miata" so I don't doubt it can fit at least one in the frunk, maybe even two if you are lucky. If nothing else there ought to be room for at least one case in the passenger footwell.

Edit: I forgot to ask, is it a Cayman or Boxster?
I think I have three empty Erdinger cases I could try to fit in my Boxster if it would help :D

First thanks for your response.
It is a cayman. Meaning if it fits in the Boxter, it'll surely fit in a cayman although I think that main difference in trunks space is where the roof placed when it is open and over there, I don't think you can put a box in that size :).

BTW, it'll be great if you'll be able to test that for me although I would never has asked ;)

I don't think carrying 60 bottles of beer is funny. Now, if you had a little mishap and they all got broken, now THAT would be funny. But only to onlookers, not to you. Come to think of it, it would be sad, not funny at all.

A Cayman can surely carry 60 bottles, but I don't know about those cases. How big is the case? I can measure the dimensions of the frunk. Will the bottles have to be vertical? WIll they be capped? How tall is a bottle? You can put some in the trunk.

I would say a mishap would be tragic, possibly even traumatic, if it was a really good beer. If Bud or Michelob Light, then it would be a benefit to the world and not sad at all!😁

And to my originally planned post, I think 60 beers would fit in the trunk. I have put 2 carry-ones into the frunk on top of my 4" deep tire repair kit with lots of room to spare. Just use cushioning where necessary.

Carrying 60 bottles of beer without the proper case is indeed a stupid thing to do. With the case? I did it with all my cars and it works perfectly fine. It needs a painful accident to make them break but in that kind of accident, I wouldn't bother about the bottles or the beer.

The cases size are as follows:
H: 27-29 cm = 10.6-11.4 inches
L: 40 cm = 15.7 inches
W: 30 cm = 11.8 inches

Using a 6-pack as a guide, it appears to me I can easily fit 14 six-packs of bottles standing vertically in my frunk without any trouble. That's 84 bottles of beer. If you wanted to place the bottles in individually packing them as tightly as possible, I'm sure you could fit a few times that number.

First you are talking about 0.33L bottles. Second, I'm sure that I can fit 60 bottles of 0.5L in the frunk only but the case is the problematic thing and I'm not planning to try and fit the bottles without the case. That would be sheer stupidity.

Sorry, carry-on luggage. Not sure how that got changed on my post. FAC is the suspect.
I do like your carry-one better though!

You are quite right! I missed that little detail about bottle type. From your case/box measurements above, it looks to me that two will fit side by side in the frunk, but the third will have to go on the passenger's seat or on the floor in front of the passenger. Unless you repack the third, it won't fit in the trunk, or in addition to the two boxes in the frunk.

Come on. There's a much better efficiency possible.

Wine in a box .. unboxed. Should be able to pack in much more fuel.

Red would look bad in a fender bender. No body on the frunk, really.

I see. That was what I was I thinking about. Hoped there's a better option.
When I was in the show room, from just an eye look, it didn't seem too promising. After watching some videos and reading a bit about the real sizes of the trunks I got confused and that is why I have asked here.

Thanks!

Q. How are making love in a canoe and standard American beer similar?
A. They're both f&%$ing close to water.
