After 15 months of glorious ownership, just a note to say i've said goodbye to my 718 Cayman GTS.

This was my 1st Porsche and I feel very lucky to have owned it. It was a beauty, manual, agate grey with lots of stealthy additions. Sadly with two young boys, I found myself mainly driving it on my own, which meant not very much! So out goes the 718 and in comes a car i've dreamt of since I was a little car obsessed lad - a 911.

For those on the fence about the 718, don't be. Ignore the YT videos, the random comments about the noise by people that haven't driven it (or just don't like a F4) instead try it and you'll never regret it.

The handling was unbelievable, steering so intuitive and engine response was incredible - not vicious but linear, controllable and very progressive and fast. It's a car you can live with on the limit, but you have to drive it there. It loves being driven.

The oh so discussed sound? It sounds like a little racing car. I loved it.

Now I have a 991.24S, it's wonderful and i'm just learning how to live with it. New chapter, no regrets just fond memories! Fantastic little car.

Congratulations on the 911, I love my Carrera T manual. At least you’re staying in the Porsche family. Enjoy it :)

Sad to see you go @UKGTS If you need a drive, take @Gtipirelli on the offer to meet. I come from further east than you and still try to make most of these events Enjoy the 911
AJ, can you put UKGTS in touch with Uzzi so he can join our WhatsApp group as that is where we tend to arrange most of our meet-ups these days. I have forgotten Uzzi’s username on this forum
