So this was interesting. I use a Porsche trickle charger. The other day I plugged it in and closed the door. As the door closed the radio turned on and started playing. There was no key on the ignition. Anyone have similar wires issues. 2017 Cayman S

My radio always turns on upon unlocking the doors. I assume (although I've never checked) that it will turn off after the usual 15-20 minutes that happens when sitting with the key in the ignition and turned off.

I've never had my radio turn on unless the key is in the ignition and the car is on (either to power accessories or to start the engine). So, @GregW and @mattkidd93, every time you unlock your car your radio turns on? Even before you open the door? I've never seen a car do that, let alone our 718s.

Call up that lady in Sicily and tell her to stop doing that.

I wonder if that is a feature of the ergonomic memory setting. Try turning the radio off then saving your settings in the key. (If you just save them in one of the onboard storage slots the key's setting will override it.)

I'm not exactly sure of the precise happenings, as I've got used to the radio coming on when I unlock the car to clean—so definitely no key in the ignition. I think I remember hearing the radio (well, actually the iPod) through the closed door, but memory being malleable means ?????
