On the heels of a 700+ hp 2.0 turbo-four (919 Evo hybrid) obliterating the decades-old 'Ring overall record, we have the 9A2-engined (and VTG turbocharged) GT2 RS doing the same for production cars. Now playing in North America:

What a glorious time to be driving the new Porsche turbo power -- the apex predator in motorsports and on the street...

VTG Turbo

Everyone wants the next GT4 to have a detuned version of the GT3 engine. In reality, a larger, tuned version of the 718s engine would blow the doors off a NA 6. Oh well. I really like turbo charged engines. They're torquey, can sip fuel, and up to about 12,000 feet elev., lose no performance. It must be a real revelation for a 981S owner in Denver to test drive a 718S in Denver.
Just increase the stroke, tune to about 400hp, but about 400 lbs/ft at 1500-5000 rpm, 5% loss to 7200 rpm. They won't do it beacause it would belittle the 911.
But my little 718S is just fine for me.
