Hi everybody, this is my GTS 4.0, the last one with manual transmission, Gentian Blue, available new in the US market.

Unfortunately, I did not realize how hard the suspensions were, and it only took a 100-mile trip to conclude that my back pain does not allow me to travel on it. So sad, considering the expectation and the amount of money put into it. I was planning to preserve it as the last of a kind, but now I think I should get rid of it...:cry::cry::cry:

I see you’re getting lots of advice and recommendations from others that have experimented or modified things to make their ride more comfortable. I spend weeks tweaking my seating position but that only improved things slightly. For me, the back pain turned out to be caused by the lumbar curve being too pronounced for me even with balloon deflated. Filling the area below the lumbar curve with this cushion completely saved me. My 14-way seats went from barely tolerable to being the most supportive and comfortable I’ve owned. Good luck.

For people having backpain on the lumbar region (herniated disc, sciatica and so on), filling the gap between the seat base and the backrest works very well in most car seats - a simple rolled sweater or towel often do the trick.

Interesting fact, some of the Lotus Elise's seats were known to be very comfortable even with the fixed backrest because they were specifically designed to address this issue - they were called ProBax and made to properly tilt your pelvis in a position that minimized strain on the lumbar inter-vertebrae discs

For lot of us old farts that had to wait becoming too old to afford a sports car we would have better enjoyed in our 30ies, our back issues are often related to retracted iliacus and hamstring muscles - because we spend too much time sat at a desk to earn money to afford the sports car... vicious circle, life sucks.

Moving, stretching and abdominal core training are the most effective solution too keep being able to reach inside and sustain the driving position in our low slung cars, if you needed a real motivation to get your body additional care, that's one :) .

This is the only exercise you need to do regularly to prevent lower back pain. I do it especially before longer sitting periods. If I skip them for a week, my lower back pain comes back. Of O do it every second day, I can do anything without problem.

This is amazing to release tension and lower pain.

Do both regularly.

Thank you all for the suggestions. The dealer confirmed that the suspensions were good and nothing was left behind after transportation. About cushions, yes I have some and of course I was discussing my experience based on several attempts and adjustments already made. I have tried a Z4 automatic, and I think that the general settings of suspensions + seats + extra room make a noticeable difference. I am prone to believe that the real deal is a combination of things that, in my case, just do not work. Still, the real pain, now, is the tremendous loss I face, based on the trade-in offer received. 🤕
