Hi guys, I have the 2019 base 718 Cayman. I had the H&R VTF lowering springs installed and it lowered my car way, way more than what is stated on the description. On their description, the rears should be lowered maximum .8" and the fronts lowered .8" - 1" But it actually lowered my car: rears and fronts lowered 2.25" This is much lower than I want. It's simply not functional for daily driving. I am not getting a straight answer from the company that did the installation or H&R member services. Is it possible and safe of course to possibly add spring spacers? Any info or advice would be much appreciated!

Sounds like something is wrong. Who did the install?

That’s no good, you must get it sorted.

Of course there are 2 stages, installation and then adjustment, have they actually adjusted to the correct ride height - sounds not, or even missed some parts out?

Surely H&R can advise?

Hi marc,

One question: Did the H&R springs come with bump stops? Oftentimes, lowering springs need to be paired with custom bump stops for a variety of reasons. Those don't necessarily affect ride height, but ...

I'd follow both of the previous posters' advice and get in touch with H&R first, then whoever did your install. I suspect there may be a part missing, or you were shipped a more extreme set of springs (can't remember if H&R offers more than one 'series').

Good luck, and keep us posted!

dude I like that stance
I am currently on HR springs and Im not a fan of how aggressive the drop is.. but the ride is close to factory.

I'll probably swap out my springs to SPASM spings.. if its not too much to ask, you think you can help me out with the p/n on SPASM springs?

Try looking into the Techart springs 1st, get info from those that have them. Those that have them are very happy. Not as low as H&R and not as high as SPASM 20mm

As for the 20mm SPASM springs try Suncoast

according to techart and GMP (that sells techart) its a 35mm drop (from base trims) which is similar to H&R.
I guess i can ask people that has the techart springs and see it their springs settles lower as millage incurred on them.

my biggest concern is my struts' performance with these springs. coming from base suspension, i do like how the 20mm drop sits and no one engineers porsche parts better than porsche themselves

Not sure what VTF springs are but the standard H&R springs have been great for me.

Ride quality hasn't been ruined by any means. These will hold me over until its time to fork out for Ohlins or something comparable.

here is what Tire Rack says the lowering height ... seems to be 1.2" to 1.8" drop

  • Note: Avg. low 1.2-1.8"F & 1.8"R
w/ PASM, front only height adjustable. W/O PASM front only height adjustable. Lowering varies by engine size, battery package, and model options.

Did you ever get it figured out?
