There are 5 dealers within 100 miles of my home. Searching online I found a total of 4 base 718s (car I'm most interested in) in stock at those dealers. The GTS is well represented as is the S, but fewer of them. I think that says a lot about where the profit margin lies. Anyone experiencing the same? Any thought about whether the roll-out of 2019s might bring more base cars to the showrooms? I'd like to test drive multiple-optioned bases but there is no way with the limited inventory currently available in may area.

Porsche has been shut down for the last few months, it's more likely dealers have been selling 718s so have fewer left.

You can call these dealers and ask them if they have any allocations for Cayman Base. I know that when I ordered mine in early May, they only had one Base allocation at that time and I took that one. It is for an end September completion and end November delivery at the dealer. My SA said that at least early on there were less slots than they had hoped for...............so, not sure how many the dealers are going to get to spec out and put on the floor. If you really want to get one, you might look at a build. As for test drivers...............I test drove a Base and S 2018 as the delta in the 2019 is negligible...........(all 2019s come with PSE standard may be the single biggest difference).
