Hello. Thank you all for the add. I am a first time Porsche owner. After researching and gazing and loving Porsches for over 2 years, my husband surprised me with a 2014 Boxster S on Valentine's Day. We got a fabulous deal. Only 13k miles, from a man who lives close to us who kept it in his garage and babied it. Didn't drive it in the rain or when the weather was bad. His wife wanted to upgrade to a Lexus LC, so we were very fortunate.

I really wanted Guards red, but this one is silver and truth is I love it.

I started following Larry Kosilla of AMMONYC and I detailed it for the first time this weekend. It shines so bright.

I want to thank you all for the advice that I will surely be asking of all of you experts in the future. I look forward to seeing some of you in the future at events.

Katrina

Being an expat from Caddo parish (S'port) welcome aboard Katrina, I know your AO very well. I raised my family 45 mins. north of you, my dau. went to LSUBR, son LSUS and a friend I knew from HS days in S'port was also named Katrina, a solid lady that last I heard lives down on the north shore in Madisonville.

@kvocon : Welcome ... and a repeat of my answer to you on another thread:

<<(PLEASE tell me you weren't named for the hurricane ... ) My family's got deep roots in your area, so it's dear to me. Example: an old family cemetery is southeast of Alexandria, and my grandfather -- the youngest of 23 children -- ran a campground on Toledo Bend reservoir outside of Many for many years. Both he and my father are LSU grads.>>

I just realized that I never answered your powder coating question, Katrina: I do recommend it if it's done by the right kind of place -- ideally, a shop that has years of experience in both refinishing AND repairing wheels. Powder coating is a very different process than painting; only an outfit that understands that will do a proper job. In your area, I'd look for a place in either Shreveport or Baton Rouge, and you should spend no more than $150 a wheel. Also, be mindful of the center caps of the OEM wheels; you may need to source colored ones, or verify that the shop can re-finish the existing ones.

Re. service needs (for any vehicle) in S’port contact Foreign & Classic Auto Centre, a LONG time (since 1976) indie I’ve used there & still do even though I’m an hr.+ east of them in Tx. Wayne Watson is the owner, a long time friend & his # 2 there is Wayne Hall who spent many years @ Zims in DFW, both honest & very knowledgeable fellas.
