Hello everyone, I will be picking up a brand new 2018 718 S this Saturday...this will be my first Porsche after many years as a BMW M fanboy (and a couple of Audi's and Mercedes thrown in for good measure). I am beyond excited to pick this car up, and will post up my initial impressions and pictures!

Thanks! Yes I’m sure the break in period will be tough. I plan to follow it but seems really long. Previous M cars I have owned had 1200 mile break in and I thought that was excessive ?

@Steve48 - Welcome, and congrats! There are several of us in North Texas -- dare I say enough to warrant a GTG, or at least a heyya at a future PCA Maverick chapter event. (Been close to that a couple of times)

We do need to make a Mav. event happen Mike, hopefully the WX will cooperate this time & I'm not conflicted w/ a match that day as well.

Congrats! Me too, I always a BMW M fan boys but never able to afford one. But stupid me enough that I always go for the top of the line non-M 3 series and end up regret LOL. So after I sold my E92 335i last year and was planning to get a M2C or M4, BMW dealership not willing to let me test drive any of the M so I went to a Porsche dealership and test drove the 997 and they are so kind that hand me the key for their 718 to test drive too. So that's why say bye bye to BMW and I am here now.

Yes, pics are coming for sure...doing a full decon/detail/coating session this weekend so will take some after this. Is it weird to be so excited to detail my car?? Weather here in Dallas is supposed to be perfect this weekend so cannot wait.
