After months of lurking on the 718 Forum, I've decided to join and become a part of the community.

Later this morning I'll be taking delivery on a 2019 Boxster S that I ordered back in early April. It's been a long wait, so I'm quietly excited. This will be my third Boxster S, but the first one being built to my specifications. Previously I owned a 2005 in Arctic Silver and a 2015 in White. This one will also be white.

Reading the many posts on this forum has been very helpful in deciding which options I wanted. I also did about a dozen 1-2 days rentals from Turo last year and that helped as well. Besides Boxsters (981 and 718) and Caymans, I also rented Alfa 4C and Giulia, Jaguar F-Type and an Audi TT Roadster.

I'll be posting in the Owners section once I take delivery. Hopefully I'll have enough posts by then to add some photos too!

Welcome!

Since using a big-box rental company recently to secure a 'muscle car' to drive on a vacation, I've thought about renting from Turo to taste some other wares, too. (I nearly canceled the reservation above to opt for a M/T 2006 911 Carrera S on Turo). I very well may do that a few times in the next year, just to see what all the fuss is about -- positive and negative -- with some other rides ... nice suggestion!

Thanks guys! I'll post photos along with my build spec over in the Owners section. Not sure if it's true, but I remember reading that you needed 10 posts before you can post photos.

As far as Turo, it was great getting 24 or 48 hours to test drive each vehicle on my favorite routes here in San Diego. Each evening I wrote up a short entry (3-4 paragraphs) in a personal journal, so I could document what I liked and didn't like, options, handling, etc. Reading back those was a big help when my GTI lease was ending and it was decision time. Reading this forum was also a huge help.

Glad to be on the forum. So many great members with helpful information, opinions and positivity!
