Hi all. I’m a new (to me) Cayman owner since yesterday. I brought home this Lava Orange beauty home which was a replacement for a Focus RS. This will be mostly a track-toy with some ”normal” fun-driving on the roads. I got lots of great feedback from this group when I made my first post asking about this car, and was really impressed with the quick and thoughtful feedback. This looks like a good place to hang out and geek on 718s!

Congrats on the new car! My dad always used to say that the best place to get a deal on a Chevy was at the Ford dealer, I guess that goes for Porsche and BMW! ?

When we aren't passing through Seattle we sometimes join those PCA regions for a drive, may see down there some time.

Congratulations!!! Looks beautiful! Completely random question, but how is it like to live in Seattle? We’re currently in Denver and thinking of moving there in the long run, but not sure if we should go to Texas first for a couple of years to save some $ for a house or move there (although we really really want to) because of the cost of living. Is it more expensive than Denver if you live in the north, outside Seattle?

Another Seattle area owner - hope to see you out there!
Great area @Mraza4442 , expensive, but lots of development outside the city, esp east and north east.
Just back from the mountains this morning, depending on what you like to do - and coming from Denver assume you like the outdoors - great year round access to the wilderness fairly close to the city.

Thank you! Can’t wait to move, will definitely visit sometime next year and probably do a road trip from California to Seattle and back to Texas until we make the permanent move to Seattle. You guys are the best!

What @seattledl said is pretty much spot-on. Not a cheap place to live, but lots of economic opportunities, if you’re in the right line of work. The access to natural beauty is pretty hard to beat (though Colorado isn’t bad either). The summers are amazing and what keep you going through the doldrums of March. But I grew in the PNW so I’m used to it.

Hi! Just wanted to follow up and see how things are going and how the chapter looks in the PNW area!

Track season is in full swing. I haven’t been out with the PNW chapter yet, but I did some instruction at a Driver Skills clinic and it was a blast. I’m definitely planning on doing some more this year.

With vaccination rates improving I expect a lot of the tours will open up again too. I haven’t done with the local club, but they look fun.

You may also be interested in joining Avants (www.avants.com) which is a fun car-enthusiast group. Lots of those members are in the local PCA, ACnA and BWCCA scenes around here too.

Nice! Thank you! Had a quick question, not suer if this is best place for it, but also seems like the best place for it. Regarding the homelessness in the PNW area, specifically Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia, how bad is it and do you have to take extra care with your 718? Any extra care needed at night time?

I keep mine in the garage so YMMV.

Hello everyone, thanks again for the input! Just checking in to see if anyone knows any good independent dealers for the services for 10,000 miles and up In the Seattle Metro area. Thankfully, we are picking up ours today, and then driving back from Atlanta, so just want to make sure I know about some shops for maintenance before we get there. Thank you again! See you on the roads!
