Brief intro. I've loved Porsche's since I was 13, started selling them at 24, but after two years my career path moved me elsewhere. Now I'm back in the industry as the compliance officer for a large auto group. Been dreaming about owning a Porsche for 25 years -- so after 100+ hours in the Configurator, I've placed my order.
ETA July 28 I'm beyond excited. Build details are in my signature.

Welcome and congratulations! Miami Blue is even more beautiful in person than on the configurator it will not disappoint.
If money was no option, your CS is precisely how I would have built mine. Tip of the hat to you sir.

You will have a smile for every mile.
crk,
Would you mind posting a profile pic of your ride? I'd like to see those base Cayman wheels...I've ordered the Boxster wheels for an extra $400 because I think they give better visibility to the rotors and have more of a muscle car look to them...My final change date isn't until the 16th...If I can save $400 on the wheels I would like to.

Thank you, but all that stuff is just a bunch of bells and whistles the heart of the 718 is the engineering. You will have an absolute blast when you get your Porsche.;)

I can not agree more. Today, where I parked my car at work, there was a 981 base Cayman with 18-inch wheels. Very plain, almost no options (indoor and outdoor). But it was alone with no other Porsche and no configurator to make any comparaison whatsoever. It was absolutely beautiful !!! And it was the oldest model.

These cars can only drive well and look great regardless of the options.

I know...I saw that happen all of the time to former customers. Not to mention the fact that my best friend since I was 14 is very high up the food chain at Porsche Cars North America, and I think he might have called in a favor or two in Germany, to bump up my build date so I’m pretty sure my final change date of April 16th is no more... I really want the Carrera S 20” or the Turbo 20” wheels, (I scour eBay and the forums daily for a set) but I’m not going to pony up for them in the initial build, b/c I’m already over my desired budget. :shrugs:

I just read on another thread that others have gone with OZ O.Z. LEGGERA HLT Wheels - Tire rack has them - they look very close to the Porsche wheel and center cap fits - Price is $2236 (US)

Exactly what I was going to mention. I wouldn't sweat the wheels, there's nothing easier to replace than wheels. Go aftermarket, get exactly what you want, for a lot less money. If possible, store your factory wheels for increased resale value when you're ready for another car in the future. You can then sell the aftermarket wheels online and sell or trade your 718 with OEM wheels...
