Soul performance exhaust or fabspeed supercup. I want obnoxious. Fabspeed has drone issues but I believe overall it is more obnoxious than soul. Soul see s better built and is much cheaper. Issue is on YouTube and the 400,000 hours I have spent listening to every video I can...neither sound any different than my PSE. Basically can't really tell. Anyone have one or hear one of these in person?

I am not, looking for power..going to have an apr tune at some point and neither will help or hurt the tune.

You may want to consider a sport cat as they scrub as much noise as exhaust system. Plus it gives the turbo a voice. The only way you really hear the turbo is without it. That should tell you something.

Hey thank you for considering us. I made the videos for both exhaust systems you are considering. I'd be happy to have a chat with you to weigh the pros and cons to make sure you get the sound you're looking for.

Personally, the Fabspeed exhaust is the way to go. SOUL doesn't offer up a carbon fiber tip option.

Here you is your loud and obnoxious exhaust. 😁

Most carbon fiber tips don't hold up long term. The rivets can rust, the carbon fiber can turn yellow, and the inner shell can rust. That's OK for some people but not something we want to offer our customers. We're looking for a high quality solution that will endure several years of abuse - we're in the testing phase. That said, we can do custom exhaust tips in different colors with different logos of our single wall tips, and there are several ebay brand tips that could possible bolt on to our exhaust if the outer diameter is 3.5", 2.5" ID, with an overall length of around 4.5".

So......I'm probably in a better position than most to answer the Fabspeed vs. Soul question that you pose as I had both on the same car. I originally switched out the standard exhaust for the Fabspeed Supercup system. Yes, it was loud and obnoxious like you are looking for, but the drone was so bad that I didn't last a week before I pulled it off the car. I then worked with Mike at Soul and went with the sport cat with the valved exhaust option and I couldn't be happier. It sounds amazing and the sport cat gives it a little more pull in my opinion. Plus, I think that the build quality of Soul was better. If you really want loud and obnoxious without the drone, I'd go with the new Soul Sport Package which removes the mufflers.

Curious on the comments on rust and yellowing. I had a Remus exhaust on my BMW with carbon tips, and the years I had that car the carbon never yellowed on me. There were no rivets so I can't comment on that. However, I can possibly see how it might occur. When two different metals / materials are touching accelerated galvanic corrosion can occur. The rivet is made of one metal type different than the material that it's screwed / riveted onto.

Maybe with these cars you have to be a little more detail oriented when it comes to detailing your vehicle. My cars get professional detailed once a month, and I usually wipe them weekly with a quick detail solution. Griot's Garage quick detail is my favorite. I also like the Chemical Guys stuff as well.

Thanks for the chat. I assume the performance exhaust we talked about is just a muffler delete sort of straight pipe but with factory cat?

Correct!

Depending on quality of the resin used it can yellow or dull over time. This can occur from UV damage, heat, or expose to chemicals like road salt or even noxious gasses from catless exhausts. In the Fast and Furious days carbon fiber hoods were really popular but over the years you may have seen them end up with peeling, cloudy, or yellow clear coats / resin to the same effect.

Here is another example where the metal itself rusted out on another brand's tips where we rebuilt them.

We've been doing long term tests on various components like stainless steel for our tips, titanium for tips, hardware, and all sorts of things which are intended to last long term as we offer a lifetime warranty. There are no short cuts, and we don't want to sell anyone short. When it's carbon fiber time, everyone here will know! :)

@Soul Performance Products - I have a question as I have been doing some research on exhaust products and offerings. You offer an HJS sport cat in your lineup, but HJS doesn't list you as a partner on their website. Are you sourcing them from somewhere else? If so where, and who would handle the claim if something went wrong? Just asking because $2k is chunk of change.

** EDIT **
I just re-read that, and that came off harsh. Just want to make sure I'm covered and my fellow forum members are covered as well. Any insight you can provide would very helpful. I do appreciate it. 😁

I get having concern, sometimes overthinking / researching things leads you down holes you don't normally think of. If you want confirmation on who's going to be there for you, call and speak with them! I promise you the guy/gals at SOUL are top notch!

For me it's not about what the origin manufacture is going to do, it's who you've sent the money too. I don't want the buck passed on and hear "Well, that part isn't ours and you'll have to file a claim with them". The company I'd support is the one that says, "Sorry about that, let us get you a replacement and back on the road ASAP". If the claim is worth chasing financially, they'll pursue it with their supplier. Hopefully they're aligned with suppliers/partners that share in their values, offering the same great service to them. Aligning with the right partners nets happy customers for everyone!

No doubt, I'm a PITA customer because I expect the best... but if you take care of me, I'm loyal as they come and will tell everyone.

It's not harsh at all - a very valid question! We appreciate you being thorough. The truth is the official distributor of HJS cats in the US is our direct competitor who is privately and publicly hostile towards us - you can see where that gets complicated. We're making every attempt to become a distributor but said company has a contract for a monopoly on north and south American distribution. We import from dealers in Europe and you can expect the same cats, same outstanding qualities albeit it requires more work for us. If anyone tells you otherwise, we have documentation on authenticity.

We stand by our warranty, always. We handle the claim directly and quickly with you. It's our mission to never leave anyone behind.
