hi all

just joining as I purchased a 6 month old Cayman GTS last week trading in a black 991 Carrera S

7th Porsche I have owned after a 964, 993, 986, 996 C4, 996 C4S and the 991

not done too many miles yet but very happy with my newest ever (and costliest ever) Porsche.

sure I will enjoy spending really helpful and interesting time with you all.

Okay, you've had more Porsches than me...

Lovely car, really like those rims with GT Silver. Congratulations, drive Safe and Fast.

Will be interested in your driving impressions coming from the 3.8 991 S. That has been the closest 718 S match for real-world performance I could find among PDK/similar-weight cars, so I feel very familiar with its performance envelope.

Hi Tim,

I am from Buckinghamshire... your 718 looks awesome, I am loving the interior. That's what I have ordered for my 718 Boxster apart from mine will be white with the Black/Bordeaux Red, when it finally arrives, I have no build date at the moment

hi Barry

I am in Worcestershire

the interior is a great choice - it looks really nice against any of the lighter colours

I was very lucky with this car turning up pre owned only 10 miles from where I live - I intended to order and wait months but I guess it was just meant to be

I bet you cant wait for your car - it will be worth it as you will love it

bit early to say as I have had the car only a few days

I loved the carrera S but initial views favour the Cayman

lighter, more compact , nimble, handling balance, cornering all seem better and the TORQUE!!!

no bad choices either way - all Porsche sports cars are excellent

looks like the local Porsche centre did OK as well as my old car was upon the approved used site at lunch and gone by late afternoon - it was a nice car though

Hi Tim,

I would love to see some more pictures of the interior of your Cayman :) Black/Bordeaux Red really does make the interior pop!!!!

yes I cant wait! starting to get really excited now lol , I am sure I will start looking at the calendar every day in October wondering if I am going to get the call!

the 991 looked amazing in black, I am not a black car sort of person but that really looks good! I think the 911 looks good in most colours :)

what made you change from a 911 to a 718?

on the swap - birthday and probably retirement coming up - I wanted a present to myself - my budget and the 991 would not have even got me near to a Carrera T so other thoughts

had driven a Cayman S with PDK on a track 18 months ago and the speed and handling had impressed me so I thought GTS - intended to wait for a new one but that would have been April 2019

this car just appeared at a Porsche Centre 10 miles from me and was very very close to my ideal spec - so 1 look 1 test drive and Hey presto the car was on my drive

not got too many photos of interior yet but I have taken these

Hi Tim,

thanks for the pictures, the interior looks amazing! I love the Black/Bordeaux Red leather... that's why I have selected that interior for my Boxster :)

I don't think you will be disappointed with changing from a 911 to a 718... I drove the 911 and 718 to decide which to go for, my two choices were even a 718 Boxster or a 911 Carrera Cab... I thought if I am to spend this much I want to spoil and reward myself. I came to the decision, that not only value for money but in terms of driving dynamics the 718 was a better car.... That's my own opinion!

your GTS looks awesome! Enjoy it and I am happy for you :)

Regards

Thanks Barry

After 350 miles in the GTS I am very happy with the choice of the Cayman over another 991

All of my friends who have seen it have loved and wanted it as well

quick update

1200 miles in and still loving it

no issues at all

22 mpg average but that is probably me spending too much time in sport and high revs but it is so much fun why wouldn't you?

loving the update PCM4 as well - nav, real time traffic, fuel prices, google maps, apple car play, jukebox, even the Bose is decent

big fan!!!

washed the car yesterday so one or two more photos
