The high mileage club I will arbitrary set at >10K miles (16,093KM) and I feel it would be helpful if members of this group can list any issues with their 718s to date, wear and tear concerns, premature system failures, or any advice about the car protection chosen whether in the form of exterior treatments (PPF or ceramic coating) or interior treatments. Comment on your level of satisfaction with whatever interior or exterior protection you chose. When it comes to the protection you’ve chosen what if anything would you do differently if you were to purchase a new 718 today?

Sweet! I'm at 18.5k miles. Perfect car in everyway no problems. I have the cquartz 110 ceramic coat and that's it, it's very good. I don't have to soap down the car very wash, gets dirty less often.

Guys, please only contribute if you're above 10K miles (16k km for our metric-leaning members). Let's keep this thread focused. Thanks!

I just crossed 10k miles and this far not one issue. About to get my first (well really second) service.

I got a service when I got the car (purchased a launch car with 125 miles on it so they changed all fluids before I took ownership)

Stock exhaust sounds nicer now broken in particularly in sport. 20” wheels don’t make car drive harsh at all (no Pasm). Loving every mile.

Similar to Mrrippry above... I'm at 11,800 mi now after 9 months, with two road trips to the southwest. Two concerns that I guess are just the nature of the vehicle... noisy interior for one, mostly road/tire noise I think as on some stretches of very smooth pavement it's ok. These are the 20" Goodyears, and do I correctly understand the Michelins are quieter? I'm a little surprised, maybe naive, not having considered the Cayman would be noisier than my old BMW M3. My hearing is long gone anyway. Secondly I'm concerned about hard landings of the nose. A few minor bumps and scrapes, plus two really hard bottomings that surely must have consequences. I had a post-breakin service back at 5800 mi, now set for the first "official" 10k svc and I will ask about the hard landings and tire wear. And I'm about ready for the T-Design memory module, tired of the engine start/stop button.

Ah, should mention there was a service/repair matter just after that first servicing. Electronic failure in the front BCM which was eventually replaced. Front turn signal failure warning, with the dash indicators blinking double-speed, and often a failure to start the engine with a message the key could not be located. This took three days to sort out, with each day a 180-mi round trip to the dealer.

You stated you bottomed out a couple of time.........do you have PASM? The other bit of information I am curious about, and hopefully after your "10K" service appt you can tell us, is the amount of tire wear at 11.8K.
That is quite the distance to have your Porsche serviced.

Thanks... No PASM. There was a ditch across a back street in Ely Nevada, nicely paved but deep enough the nose hit hard. And in Provo Utah a commercial drive off a main arterial with a surprise rain gutter followed by an upward slope. Also touched down on a large unmarked speed bump I saw too late in a residential area of Flagstaff Arizona.

On the Goodyears, both front and rear, on the inside tread block, what might be wear bars are only very slightly below the tread level. The main circumferencial grooves are still deep though. I tend to get good mileage out of my tires, so it would be surprising if new ones are needed so soon. At Tire Rack, the Michelin Pilot Sport looks like a good choice...

over 11k here base boxster with all of the performance options CF dash and center, and alcantara dash wheel shiftier and center console I added after purchase 20" wheels and techart springs AWE touring exhaust

no failures or breaks
had a rattle behind driver in roll bar plastic
little looking revealed a trim piece not seated fully and was fixed in a few seconds

had 10k service no issues

have a clear front wrap has helped a bit got hit with a rock right above passenger headlight put a dime sized dent in the fender
super happy about that
I'm leaving it for now
this is my commuter and I'm sure to get more
may wait till I have a couple more and have the paintless dent guy pay a visit

think I would have gone ceramic coating if I could do it over
the finish of the clear wrap bugs me ... doesnt feel like paint

pulled over once given a warning (thank you officer)

alcantara steering wheel is not wearing prematurely like I've heard we will see how long till I feel I need to replace it
interior still looks amazing
I am careful about not getting in the boxster right after I grease the drive line on my jeep though
'
the springs are low, lower than I thought they would be ...have scraped coming out of a driveway once the 20" wheels make the ride noticeably more harsh but livable
