I have not been impressed with the standard P-Zero tyres fitted to my car in anything other than perfect summer weather. I was dismayed to see that my rears are down to about 2-3mm tonight. I've done about 9,000 miles so maybe it's normal.

How long did your tyres last before you had to replace them?

I can only provide 981 and 987 experience. My 2016 981 had P Zeros and I got about 18,000 out of the rears if memory serves. Michelins on my 2 987s were about 19-20,000 miles. Only have 900 miles on my 718 delivered end of October......they are Yokohamas.

I have the 18 inch Pirelli P-Zero (PZ4) tires on my 718 Boxster with 19,000 miles. I expect I will get 25,000 miles before replacement is necessary. On my previous Boxster (2012 987.2) I did get 32,000 miles on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. I think a lot depends on how you drive, where you drive, and if you track your car.

Sonny-Front AND rears? Wow...........maybe a few laps at Sebring had something to do with my mileage :).
Yes, Front and Rears. The fronts may have had slightly more tread left but I prefer to change all four tires at the same time. The strange part is the Michelins had many track days and the Pirelli's have not. My experience is the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires are not only a longer wearing tire buy also a better track tire.

32k is amazing. I don’t drive hard but have never got past 15k on rears
32K is amazing for a summer tire. In AZ almost all roads and the tracks have smooth surfaces. I am sure that is a factor. I still have invoices. 13,483 when installed / 46,348 when replaced = 32,865 miles.

For 14 years of Boxster S driving (987 and 982), I reckon around 10k miles average for rears. My 718 OE Yokohama rears were getting down to wear-bar at 9k miles when I changed wheels.

No tracking, various brands of Max Performance Summer. Reasonably smooth NorCal roads. No commuting, few long freeway trips but lots of redline blasts up on-ramps. Lots of spirited driving on secondary roads.

As other threads have shown, the standard deviation is surprisingly high for rear tire treadwear on these relatively light, powerful mid-engine cars (allowing for high slip-angle potential?). Driving style and perhaps other factors must play a big role....

While I'm not looking to up my general maintenance costs, I'm kind of looking forward to these Pirellis getting swapped out. Just going to have to drive the car harder until they're done.

I am picking my car up today after I just had to have mine changed at 7000 miles (Michelin 4s).
But I got them replaced for free through my wheel and tire package. I have a great relationship with my service advisor. I am actually picking the car up today and cannot wait to drive it.

I appear to be at the mid-point in a 10,000 mile life of my 20" Goodyears. Wear is indistinguishable between front and rears.

I'm at 10,500 on the OEM PZeros and the front and rear are down to the wear bars for me. It's time to replace.

We must have similar driving styles, my dealer tells me most people spank a set of rears well before the fronts are ready to be changed. I LIVE to drive in the twisties.
