(MODERATOR NOTE: The OP below is a re-post from the "Tips and Tricks' megathread in the General Discussion subforum. Thanks, @CaymanMatt!)

From the Good to Know app on iOS:

Deactivating Porsche Entry & Drive on the vehicle key
  1. Press lock button and keep it pressed.
  2. At the same time, press the unlock button within 1 second and keep both buttons pressed until the indicator light on the vehicle key lights up continuously.
Deactivation on the vehicle key is confirmed when the indicator light on the vehicle key lights up continuously.
Porsche Entry & Drive is activated automatically when you press the buttons on the vehicle key or turn the control unit.

@CaymanMatt and @Treemagnet have both confirmed that when deactivating E&D using this procedure, none of the doors nor frunk/trunk can be opened using the E&D feature. The only way back in is to use the keyfob button to unlock the door. Once the door is unlocked, the E&D functions again.

Surprisingly, I could not find this information in the owners manual. It was only in the Porsche Good to Know app.

I find it really hard to wash your car when the frunk and trunk open. This is great info
Just leave the key in the car and it won't open the lids or to continually lock and unlock the doors. The doors will not auto-lock with the key inside the cabin.

Old thread, but will still give it a try... I bought a second hand Cayenne S with keyless entry and have plenty of problems with it, such as car occasionally not starting, key not identified, interference with bluetooth etc etc. I have now read that many others had these issues and traced them back to the keyless entry function. I am wondering if the function can be permanently disabled, so that the doors operate just with the key buttons? I could easily live without the keyless feature (unless that means the car can no longer started using the mock key...)

Now saw on another page that a way to do this is just to remove the mock key and use the standard key as the start key, this should also deactivate the keyless entry function. Wonder if anyone has any experience on that? Grateful for views

I have not heard this nor tried it. I'd say go for it and let us know what you find.

the keyless entry function will still work for opening the doors if you only remove the "dummy" key from the ignition switch and the entry function for front compartment / trunk / hatch (exc '22 models) will still function for keyless access

doing the steps to temporarily de-activate the fob's Keyless function turns off the fob's transmit / receive function for Keyless access

Thanks. So no simple way of actually completely deactivate the keyless function (except for removing a fuse maybe)?
there is likely to be a setting in PCM to de-select passive entry (doors, front compartment, trunk/hatch)

if you pull a fuse, it probably deactivates the ignition switch altogether
