I know the left intake goes to the air filter (I think), but not sure what the right intake does. Haven't looked hard for diagrams, but none are obvious. If for cooling, anyone use a blower to help at track days?

No auxiliary fan per se, but the OE fans and turbocharger coolant circulation pump are sure whirring away after a hot shutdown!

Mine has experienced cooler operating temperatures and quicker temperature stabilization by removing its noise encapsulation panel.

I put a wire mesh screen behind each of the intake ports and find 'stuff' trapped there pretty regularly...leaves and road debris ....yesterday the leaf was still stuck to the off side parked as the fan was still going.... I do not know if the afterthought Porsche internal element would have kept that from being sucked in....I do recommend the aftermarket screens.

I did the same, and put grills in the front radiator intakes too (mainly to deflect anything that could hurt the radiator fins) and they stop lots of stuff.
