Good day All,
I collected my GTS at the start of the year but since then the car was plagued by one mishap after another which to be honest, turned me off the car. That's for a different post once the dust settles.
The journey to my first ever Porsche started back in August when I sold my Defender due to not using it that much. I'm not one to keep things for the sake of having it. The desire for a Porsche has always been there but never pulled the trigger. On that fateful day in August I took a detour to a Porsche Centre and at first was looking at a pre-owned.
It was at this time the T was hitting the lots and I turned my attention to it. During the following days/week I was locking down an order but before pulling the trigger I ran the numbers on an S. Reason here was that I truly loaded up the T and I was a few 100 quid off from a decent S. Well, once the S was built up as I wanted it was clear there GTS was the way to go so that was locked in around late September and the wait started. Saving for something special started years ago but truth be told, I never imagined this unfolding.
As you can see from the pictures, this is a GTS that has been stripped of all typical GTS visual cues. I'm not a fan of Alcantara and fell in love with the Graphite over Crayon Sport Tex interior and equally loved the Crayon paint so it worked out well - IMHO
A few of the unique and obscure options selected are - again in IMHO! It is a bit left field for what most go for in a GTS but I spec'd it for me and be dambed with residuals.
Considering we are in the midst of winter, I am enjoying the GTS and was fortunate enough to get it out to North Wales for a day. This opened my eyes for the joys to come.
I've been fortunate enough, by working in the industry, to have driven a vast and varied selection of cars. Truth be told, the tech feels old but I knew this. Chassis, dynamics and the over all feel of it - 10 out 10. It still boggles my mind just how compliant the car is as a whole. The suspension just soaks things up to no end and this with the Sport PASM. The interior build quality is up there with the best and the leather doors/dash etc dial it all up a notch.
I work around cars that are well behind my means and at the pinocle of automotive which does sour things when looking for a car, which worried me about the Porsche. Worries are all but gone.
Aside from the niggles at the start, I still pinch myself when I get in to ensure that this isn't a dream. While still early days, I have a feeling that this will keep impressing for years to come!
Apologies for the long winded intro. On to the pics.
