Dr. Colorchip doesn't list Boxster/Cayman in their model listing, only 911, Cayenne, and Macan. They do have Lava Orange listed for those models. Is it the same on all Porsche models?

Odd indeed. I just went back to the site twice this morning, selected 2019 Porsche, and only 911, Cayenne, and Macan were listed as I said above.

Thanks, that's helpful. It could be that they didn't update the website for 2019, or it could be a slight tweak in the color, which has been known to happen from year to year.

A few years back my wife dinged her car, and the body shop said there were 20+ different shades for the same color code, but different mix formulas. He spent 3 days doing spray cards until he found the match.

If it were me, I'd provide the VIN to PCNA and ask them to confirm the paint formula before I'd attempt an paintwork. Just my 2 cents.

Good advice and indeed, and will do that before purchasing anything.

Haven't found it in the manual yet, but every other vehicle I've owned has the paint code somewhere easily findable, usually in the engine bay. I took the service panel off in the frunk, and didn't see it.

The 2019 manual says on p. 293 that all vehicle data is in the "vehicle data carrier" in the maintenance book, but that's blank in mine.

Yes, we’ve established that something called Lava Orange is available for Porsches. However, as I said in the OP, the 2019 718 is not listed on their website.

Colors do change, sometimes slightly, from year to year and model to model even though the same marketing name is used.
