I have a deal on the table for a 2018 718 Cayman. Its a pretty low option car. Its not CPO as its at an Aston Martin/Bentley dealer, but it has 3 years of factory warranty remaining, in service in November of 2018. It has 7000 miles on it.

Got them down to $45895 (crazy VA processing included). It was a $60140 build so that is almost 24% off. I'm getting about $1000 above trade value on my BMW as well. Thanks!
Price:
$60,140.00
Exterior:
Sapphire Blue Metallic
Interior:
Standard Interior in Black
BASE

19" Cayman S Wheels

Model Designation "718"

Thanks!

Assuming that a $60140 would be as a minimum around $65000 with tax and license (OTD), you are talking about 30% discount plus a better trade in. I think it is a decent deal, not a steal, but reasonable. I got 28% on my Cayman S (actually a bit more because I didn't calculate the taxes right). A MY2018 in 2018 (9 mo. old) with 11000 mi.

Ask for a pre-purchase inspection at Porsche including an over rev report. For a manual I think the over rev report is crucial. I got a PDK and you can't over-rev a PDK so I was ok.

They listed it originally for $52,888, then a week later dropped to $49,888, then a week later to $48,888. I offered $42K and after some haggling they came down to $45.2K plus fees.

My number above doesn't include tax and tags, I don't usually include it as its different in every state. I also get a tax credit on my trade in my state. which is not included either. It does include the stupid VA dealer fees.

My opinion is anything in the low 40s is attractive, though I wouldn't feel bad about paying 45K for this one assuming it's a clean car (ie, no accident history), particularly if you've been looking for a lightly optioned Sapphire Blue 718. That is, if this is the car you've been looking for, I wouldn't let two or three thousand dollars be a deal breaker. Finding the perfect preowned Cayman is hard enough without trying to find one being listed for a song.

Thanks for all the advice! I’m pretty excited I think it’s a good deal and is what I’m looking for.

However, DME report shows:
Total hours: 325.6h
Range 1: 1276 @ 321.7h
Range 2: 786 @ 321.7h
Range 3: 39 @ 313h
Range 4-6: 0

I am okay with the 1 and 2s. Even if I’d prefer them lower. The 3 has me concerned about a recent missed shift. I’ve searched and searched on this topic. Specific to the 718 I can’t determine if range 3 is harmful or will play into warranty issues later.

Thanks for the help
