I don’t know how many women gushed about the 981 but it seems to me there are quite a few who are 718 fans. Anecdotally, I’ve come across a number of new female owners. Not sure why specifically but I’ll speculate the purring of the new engine may be a draw rather than the previous screaming exhaust.

Maybe Porsche has finally made a proper hairdresser’s car.

I love my multi-function heated sports wheel--but if she likes a minimalist wheel, at least it is available.

It's sort of a features review, not a driving review. I guess everybody has to fill their magazine/website with something, even if it's been done before.

Especially Jalopnik. No, strike that: particularly Jalopnik.

Not a fan of that crowd-sourced rag. Biased, judgmental, sexist, frequently incorrect, stereotypical -- and when it's not the latter, it's trying everything under the sun to see if it sticks (or drives clicks, in this case) -- and, in the end, almost always worthless.

And when it offers info that ends up not being worthless, it's almost always presented in a wrapper so full of whipped-up rhetoric and cliche that I can't read it. This one is no exception. Blech.

Agree....but, it's entertainment. There hasn't been much about the 718 in the media and it's always nice to see something, even if it's not great.

Just read a brilliant head to head feature in UK EVO magazine. (Will be online soon no doubt) it's 5 h2h's with the CGTS pitted against the M4 CS. It's a typically wet day and the CGTS destroys it, absolute landslide win and couldn't be more gushing about my beloved pocket rocket.

Strangely it then isn't even mentioned in the concluding paragraph and 2 other H2H winners are crowned (GT3 and the Type R). I didn't need the big win, the piece Vs the M4 said it all.

IIRC, EVO is one of the mags that absolutely slammed the 718's engine sound when it was first released. Nice to know it's come around on that. :D
