I read other posts - but didn't answer some questions:

So what are some of the ADD_ON's they hit you for in the Finance Dept.
I know pricing varies - so wouldn't hold anyone to it.

1. Extended Warranty - I hear on new is through Quality Guard Plus - can anyone tell me if they bought this - ballpark what you paid and coverage till (Talking on NEW Porsche USA)?

2. Wheel / Tire Warranty - how long - I ready #2020 had bad probs with this...did anyone else get...ballpark on price?

3. Getting them to throw in Tint

4.XPEL Film - Looks like base front bumper and partial hood is like $1395 of course goes up if you cover more.

Any other options they throw at you? Costs?
5. Volkswagon had a fabric / protectant wax package - $750 - total waste - a few bottles of Armor All type stuff and never used...LOL.

THANKS FOR ALL INPUT

Regarding XPEL, if that is your preference, the cost will depend upon where you live. In central Texas, I could have had XPEL Ultimate placed on the entire front end, backs of mirrors and rocker panels for around 1.5K. I made the mistake of getting the PPF applied by the dealership and it ran me 2K. If you can afford it I would do the entire front-end not a partial hood since the partial coverage leaves a noticeable, and unsightly PPF line.

Thanks that makes sense...to not have the lines. Black car - I will look for a local Xpel group in Austin and save the price through the dealership. Thnx. Good point.

My after-sale stuff - Porsche Warrington PA (the place that had been Holbert's and since changed hands twice):

Wheel and tire warranty for painted 20" Carrera S - 3 years for $1195 - they halved price after I balked at $2300 - wheels retail for $3000 apiece, tires for about $300, also includes repair, touch-up etc. I'm not generally a fan of these packages but have trashed tires and wheels on higher profile sedans with our local post-winter potholes, so I went for it.

$1400 for three years prepaid maintenance - I now see on this forum that first year is free on 2018 cars - dealer didn't tell me that. May have overpaid a little on this. I like to stick to dealer maintenance during warranty period then find an indie for the long-term with most of my cars.

$1100 on wheels for three years. Told them everything else they can keep. Car came with ClearBra which was cool.

Thanks Idamelio and Mrrippry.

Wheels Insurance bit more than I thought...but prob worth it...if they promise to fix scratched wheels...

Yes the $1,4000 for 3 years maintenance...I understand first year is FREE - but in Year 3 would you have a major maintenance? It could still very easily save you some money...

I recently had PPF applied after having driven 4500 miles over one years time. I only had it applied to the front apron, and side rockers around the air intakes. All seams line up with body seams. The only "chip collector" appeared to be the flare just ahead of the rear tires, and the PPF covered/hid the area well. There were no nicks in any other locations. So no hood, no wings, no mirrors, no rear apron behind tires. I realize chips will happen, but the price was only $850 at the dealership and there is no visible seams with the exception of a short vertical seam at the lower door corner down the rocker; very hard to see. BTW for those with a black car a Sharpie (yes) works great to hide the occasional small nick; touch up paint is too thick.

You folks getting tire packages for about $1500, who is the provider and what was included? I wouldn't mind saving $500, but 5 years with replacement including curb rash seems not too bad. Anyone in the Bay Area do better?

I would go with the track kit even if your not intending to track the car since those rocks will fly when your out and about. I did not get the "A" pillars and not sure what the "cups" are but you definitely want the rocker panels so I would go with the 3rd option. I have included my rocker panel coverage which may be of some value to you.

Good luck!

Cups are the indentions under the door handle. I guess so people don't scratch with keys.

Guaji, did you get this coverage from Champion or an outside source? I just found out my GTS is built and at "Check Point A".
Yes, I bought the coverage thru Champion. So....your 718 should arrive in the next few weeks? I may try to get to a PCA Gold Coast happy hour gathering in May.

Be sure to have the spoiler covered with PPF too - being right behind the truck, it's susceptible to scratches when (careless) people remove items from the trunk.
Yes, please do not make the mistake I made on my wife’s Boxster. I tried to save some money and did half the hood and front fenders in Xpel on her white 718. Very noticeable up close. I will have to pay to have it removed and redone. When the GTS comes in I will try to work a deal to have both cars done with the entire front ends, rocker panels, mirrors.

Yes please let me know if you are going to be up in Broward for a social hour before you head up north. As best as my SA can guess the GTS will go to the port at the end of May. Arrive in Jacksonville a week or so later and then get sent to Atlanta. Then it is up to the Porsche PEC to schedule us for the pick up, track time, lunch etc. Maybe..... the end of June or the beginning of July. That is our best guess right now.
