Hi everyone,

New here, but great to see a strong community. I've just ordered a Cayman GTS with the following spec. Very excited! What do you think? Anything you think I should add / remove before the order is locked? I live on the Spanish island of Mallorca so long distance driving won't happen much so I haven't bothered with cruise control. I also don't have much need for navigation, but on the odd occasion when I do, I think the Apple Car Play should suffice. Heated seats would never get used as not cold enough here. I would like the ventilated seat option, but its a step too far budget wise.

Looks like a good spec GTS... leather in a very hot country, I’m not sure about, I would consider sport ex , or Alcantara, Also your steering wheel as I’m sure you are aware will be very warm. LEDs are fantastic! You have some beautiful roads there I enjoy out of season no doubt. Enjoy ?

Yeah, it's a valid point about the leather in the heat, but to be honest I'm use to it. My current car (BMW 4 series) has leather interior but with the ac on it tends to cool down pretty fast and when I saw the red Bordeaux option I couldn't resist. If I could get the ventilated seats without also getting the heated option I would... but you know Porsche ?

Looks like a nice configuration. I have the Alcantara and am really happy I do. I agree with MikeGTS regarding hot weather.
I personally would deselect the smoking pkg unless you're a smoker. There aren't many storage locations in this car so why give one up for a cigarette lighter. I use the 12V outlet in the armrest to power my phones. You can do the same with the glove box outlet if you need since your armrest will be USB.
Don't forget the $0 web pocket on the tunnel. It's very handy. That is where I stash the phones.
Eliminate the power steering plus and embossed headrests and you've got the ventilated seats covered.
Enjoy the wait! It will be worth it!!?

Thanks for the advice! You've made me think about the smokers package (I specced it just for the aesthetics). Unfortunately the heated / ventilated seats are over €1500 here in Spain, so I would need to eliminate something more substantial to cover that cost.

That's a great spec! I especially like the Bordeaux interior. The contrast of red and black looks great.

I have the embossed Porsche crests on my Sport-Tex seats and like how it finishes off the look. You could go either way on the smokers package. I added it and use it store coins for the parking meters. You'll be very happy with the Sports Plus seats. They really hold you in place on the corners.

The only thing I might suggest is getting the headlight washers in the body color, so they aren't so prominent. I didn't do that on my white BS and sort of wish I had.

It seems in the US we can't order ventilated seats without getting them heated also. $1300 for both. Unfortunate but I think would part with the money if I lived somewhere hot and wanted the leather. I have Alcantara though so couldn't have ventilated seats anyway.

You guys are making me think twice about not getting the heated/ventilated seats. Thanks for the input!

That car looks great, I love silver with red interior. Looks a very similar spec to a uk owner who meets up regularly with us @timlaw

In the flesh it looks ace

Enjoy
Thanks! Good to hear other people agree

It’s easily to get confused, so try to stick with what you feel is right for you

I have power steering plus ... it was already on the car ( ex demo 180 miles) personally for the price I would have it on , but have driven loads of caymans without it I actually prefer without. But at least you have it , and can be coded on/ off ... so worth getting potentially will help a sale in the future... Nadal or Djokovic.. tomorrow?

I do think the spec is great but I am a little biased

I definitely did not want alcantara so agree there

black/Bordeaux against GT silver is very classy
Looks amazing! makes me even more sure of choosing this colour combination. Thanks for posting the photos!

To each his own, but I would never spec without the smokers pkg, I love the clean look with the lid.

For me, its mainly due to the aesthetics
but also I don't like a cluttered messy look of loose items floating in an open tray.
Between the door pockets, glove box, and tunnel net I find I have enough storage to get by.

I would consider the sport design package - I don't think the car looks "finished" at he rear diffuser without it
