Kerbed wheel!

1955 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  grasmere
Hi all

I’ve had my car for six months and absolutely love it. I live in London, UK and managed to kerb my wheel!

You can see it in the picture attached. Not the biggest scrape - it’s about 2cm - but wondering whether to get it fixed or not.

These are painted Carrera sport wheels and was worried that if they get refurbished and painted, the may not be the same as the original factory finish.

Any thoughts would be helpful! Thank you!

Hi,
I’ve had many years experience with having to deal with curbed alloys (my wife is a curb magnet) if you choose not to have the damage fixed / wheel refurbished then you must apply clear coat to the damaged are, failure to do so will cause more damage as the aluminium that is exposed to the rain and atmosphere will corrode causing the lacquer around the surrounding area to yellow and peel this is also accelerated in a marine environment.
wheel refurbishment companies charges typically £75 - £150 per wheel depending on depth of damage.

Cheers Andrew
