Kia has decided to produce the GT concept as a production model. It's benchmark? The Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera apparently. This decision follows from the release of the luxurious Kia K900 (which unfortunately did not sell very well at all.) That car was meant to battle the BMW 7-series.

This vehicle is aimed at the US market. It will also be sold in Europe with a diesel engine. It is expected to be powered by a turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It could also get the V8 that is in the K900, which would make it a true speed demon.

This is going to interesting, i expected them to come out with something awesome, but not awesome enough to rival audi and porsche. BUT either way they will have to underpin the brands they want to rival

Even if those are the vehicles that Kia is chasing after they will undoubtedly price theirs at a lower level. They can steal sales by offering something cool and comparable at a lower price.

Yup, they have to, no way they can try charging more and expect great sales, they'll have to underpin current vehicles.

I wonder how comparable the suspension will be to Porsches. Interior is gonna be a key factor here too... Production model should be interesting..

Pricing definitely has to be lower to get people in.. but a 5.0 v8 that produces 420hp would be deadly in that thing !
