Does the dealer actually have to have the car before you can schedule a pickup date at PEC?

I'm planning to pick my car up in LA and drive it back to Austin. I'm going to Xpel Tracwrap it myself for the drive. Should I have someone paint correct it in Los Angeles before Tracwrapping or should I just wait until I get to Austin to have it paint corrected, PPF'ed, and coated after the Tracwrap is removed?

Also, has anyone ever applied Tracwrap? Any tips?

Ah, my brother. Asking the same questions I did. Allow me to help a little. :)

First, you can get your date once the car is on the boat. There is ONE woman in Atlanta who handles scheduling. If your SA doesn't have her info then let me know - I can PM it to you. But first, when you give the option, you should have been given a form to fill out and they add you to the system. Once the car is confirmed to be on the boat they will schedule you. But you should press for that as soon as you can confirm the car is on the boat. They will give you a choice of 3 dates and it's first come first served.

I've been debating doing Tracwrap, blue tape, or nothing. But I'm only driving from LA to San Jose. I was hoping to find someone in LA who I could pay to tracrwap or blue tape it, since I suck at that sort of thing and the idea of spending an hour or two in the sun in the parking lot at PEC LA did not appeal to me at all.

That being said, I'd wait for paint correction until you get whatever you're getting done at home. I'll be getting my car on 7/13 and on 7/16 I am dropping it off for paint corrected, PPF, and ceramic coating.

My car is already on the boat. I'm a little worried about the whole process because I haven't been asked to put down a deposit or anything, and I've never worked with this dealer before.

I keep asking for dates for PEC so I can book my flights but haven't heard back yet.

Did you ever fill out the initial form and supplied your license and whatnot? The form I filled out was the "Porsche Experience Center Delivery Order Form and Agreement". Your dealer should have sent it to you. If they haven't then PEC has no idea you're coming and I don't even know if you can still do it at this point. Was it listed as an option on your build form?

No, I haven't filled out anything. PEC was on the original build, but when the SA sent me the most recent update, it wasn't on there. However, he called to say that I'd still be able to do it.
Then you really need to speak to your SA. The PEC doesn't even know you exist at this point, and with the car already on the boat it's likely going to the wrong place.
