I've had this LaneChanger blind spot mirror (the lanechanger mirror - Google Search) on my cars for more than 20 years. Love the thing, you basically have a 180 degree view of the back of the car/behind you, just by glancing into this thing. Sadly it doesn't fit on the 718 Cayman mirror as there isn't enough space above the mirror in the car.

Has anyone gotten anything similar that does fit and that they can recommend?

Nope. Never needed it. I simply adjust my mirrors properly to show me my blind spot ... which, thankfully, I can do on the 718. Some cars (I'm looking at you, Dodge and Ford) don't allow you to angle them wide enough.

(Proper mirror adjustment = Can't see the side of your car. On either side. Even if you're leaning to one side in your seat.)

I used to use and swore by the little rectangular mirrors until Viffermike suggested learning to use the mirrors properly.
I "you tubed" a couple of videos of how to adjust them properly and indeed I have given up my little mirrors. If you use your mirrors in such a fashion you will truly not need them. It is amazing though that the majority of the driving population do not use the side mirrors correctly and I am not sure that they even teach kids to use them properly. Now with LCA new drivers wont use any mirrors at all - Lord help us

My Mustang GT (MY14) had in the sticker a line like 'Blind Spot Car Detection System', I thought it was something like LCA. I looked for it in the manual... Nope!

Two curvy little mirrors stuck on each side mirror!... Ford HiTech!... ?

Man I guess I'm old school. I used my side view mirrors on my vehicles even when backing into the garage even though I have reverse cameras on two of them lol
I’m with you. I’m sure I’ll figure out how to trust that back up camera none of these days, until then, I’ll use the mirrors thank you very much. Talk about old school!

Have you tried to back into a parking spot using your mirrors? It works well! ...until you hit the concrete stop with your exhaust tips! OUCH!!!
My previous car (370Z) which I drove for almost 11 years had no backup camera and literally negative rear-view visibility. I kid you not, blind spots galore and freaking zero rear view other than straight back with a big-ass rear. You have to experience it to even remotely get a feel for what I’m taking about. Still love that **** car like nothing I’ve ever owned. That said, with years I got really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really good at backing into spots with just my mirrors, my baby-Yoda senses, and a little prayer! And I mean Really Fking Good!

My previous car was a Mustang GT. That movable cavern was designed with little to no rear visibility.

Backing into a space with your mirrors is child's play. Stopping before you hit your precious exhaust tips on a high(er) curb, concrete stop etc is the difficult part. No mirrors and no Yoda like magic can guide you through. Remember this, when you back into a space.

I choose to back into a space because I drive in Houston as my nick implies. 97% of the time I have monstrous trucks and SUVs on either side of the parking space. Backing out of it, leaves me exposed longer to all these idiots that don't see 'the iddy biddy sportscar'. Houston drivers seem to recognize only other trucks and SUVs (big ones).

Yesterday I was almost run over by 2 SUVs, one behind the other, on a pedestrian crossing. They wanted to turn left and 'no pedestrian better not come' their way. We yelled bloody murder and the third guy stopped, looking befuddled... 'Pedestrians?... In Houston?...'

Did you hang out on the 370Z forum by any chance? I had a 2009 370Z and was a regular there until around 2012.
Regularly at first, for a few years, had (still have) one of the earlier 2009 370Zs in the country. Less so after a few years...because...life. But yes.

Same here. Even though the back-up camera is doing it's thing, I find myself looking over my shoulder and checking the mirrors as I back up.

I still have a 350Z in the garage. That's the car without a backup camera and the one that can use it the most lol

Ideally mirror position would change depending on whether you are moving forward or reversing. Backing into my garage is a tight fit on the sides, and the BU camera doesn't give me the view I need on both sides. But it will generally show if I'm about to back into an object. On the other hand, driving down the highway I change their positions for better blind spot coverage.

I have to say/admit, that I use the BU camera all the time, but I can never park the car squarely in the space. My eye/camera/brain coordination are wanting... Even with that great big blue shape showing the guesstimate of where the car is going to end up.

I've got the 370Z in the garage as well. I've very very reluctantly put it up for sale. I love that car like nothing else, but I just don't see myself using it much if at all in the future; plus I need the garage space back, plus I could get a few bucks out of it. I've told my wife that I won't be upset at all if I don't sell the car (I've already, after just a few weeks on the market, got a relatively reasonable offer on it which I've passed on) but I also just don't know what I'm going to do with it. Would love to find a loving home for it, genuinely.

@antennahead I was on there, as well -- pretty sure my s/n was the same as this one. I wasn't nearly as active on it as I have been on most other forums, though ... a tough time of my life.

(Though if there ever was one car that mayyyybe those wide-spot stick-on mirrors would have been useful on, it was my 370z!)
