Perhaps its my poor eyesight but doesn't look very serious to me based on this photo? My guess (and I'm far from an expert!) is this would come under the category of normal 'wear and tear' rather than being considered a manufacturing defect fixable under warranty, especially in a natural material like leather... but of course I could be wrong.

I got nowhere at my dealer with damage to my seat - after 4000 miles of getting in and out of the car "correctly". Porsche has no commitment to any kind of a "fit for use" standard in cosmetic issues, and in my experience the fake leather is of poor quality. That's a bad combination. I love my car, but I'm happy to show people what they get for their money in this case.

That doesn't look like a flaw per se, but it does look like a water mark. That kind of thing would bother me for about six months while the car still looks fresh off the showroom floor. After that it would probably have a few other marks of normal usage so I'd eventually forget about it.

However I disagree with the point that Porsche never honors warranty claims on that kind of item. After I had owned my bought-new car for about six months I noticed that a thread of the stitching on the steering wheel had broken and was starting to fray. I could not say whether my thumb had done that (I don't normally rest my thumb there) or whether it had been like that from the day I first picked up the car having been done by a previous test driver or even by one of the service mechanics. Anyway, the dealer said Porsche wanted pics because they had to approve warranty items like that, since a replacement wheel was $4000 (!). We sent them pics and Porsche replaced the wheel under warranty, no more questions asked.

I will give it a shot when I take my car to the dealer, they are changing other parts under warranty anyway (Fuel Sensor).

Unfortunately we re under 24 Hrs. curfew now.
