hi guys,

after having my new Porsche 718 Boxster (2019) for a week I have placed the following order to Porsche Cyprus:

1. addition of Cruise control
2. addition of apple car play ( even though the car has the Porsche navigation it did not come with apple car play)
3. addition of the smoker's package just the console to look seamless.

total price for all the above including installation will be 1100 euros.

I believe that it is a great offer :)

as for the addition of the cruise control, they will probably add another stick behind the wheel. that means that they have to change the base cover of the steering wheel?

Cruise control, CarPlay and smokers package are all must haves for a 718 in my opinion.
The only way I could do without CarPlay in a 718 would be if I got a 718 with PCM delete, but I am not sure I have the cojones to do that even though I like the idea of PCM delete :p

Ask for a price without the Cruise Control, just to see whether it is worth it... Of course, if you have an itemized offer, the point is moot!... I use the CC on the highway/freeway all the time. I tend to drive without checking the speedo and to the level I am comfortable. Who would have thunk that my level of comfort in the Cayman is around 90?...

Unfortunately there are too many idiots on I10 driving 90+, while texting, eating and watching YouTube, simultaneously sometimes... so you can't tell 85 from the speed of the cars around you.(n)

Without the cc it will be 500 euros. Here in Cyprus highway limit is 120 km. Termac quality is good with lots of straight lines thus I need the cc. Nevertheless when road is free without police I tend to have instant pleasure for some seconds reached 182km but with this car you feel like you are doing 110-120

Three weeks ago I purchased a 2017 base Boxter -6,800 miles - without Apple Carplay. If I plug my iPhone in Carplay pops up on the PCM screen.

Ah, technically (if I understand all the features right from when I got my car), Apple CarPlay isn't a feature by itself. It is one capability of you get with Porsche Connect which includes the center armrest USB plug.

2017s didn’t have CarPlay as a separate option - you got it included with Connect. For 2019 they optioned it differently for some reason.

I think the 1100 EUR cost is great - and worth it!

I have the center armrest USB, and my car doesn't have apple car play. Been going around and around with the dealership and with Porsche on this, and no one seems to know. They all ask... Do you have the armrest USB... Yes... Then you have Carplay. Show dealer what happens....... Response... That's weird let me check the build sheet. It doesn't show Carplay, but why would they put the USB in the armrest if it doesn't have it. It annoys me a little, but I'm over it. :)

My model is 2019 without armrest USB . As per Porsche here Apple car play need to have the armrest USB where there you connect the mobile for the apple car play. I have ordered and here in Cyprus the price is 550 euros . I will get back to you when car is ready.

So, just curious, when you run your VIN through VIN Analytics, does it not show code 9WT? Or, here's another possibility, in my 2019 build I added "Smartphone Compartment" (Code 9ZE) which essentially is a booster under the armrest. So if you look at VIN ANalytics, check for 9WT and 9ZE.

Here are the results. :)

Well, lots of nice stuff, but nothing I can see that would give you the USB in the armrest. However, if SC came standard on your car, it may provide an access point to download track data from the car. I have no idea how that works, or if that is necessary.

I tried also vinanalytics but seems my Vin is not recognizable. I have double check with my car and also papers but again seems doesn't work :(
I think it may be restricted to U.S. but not sure about the rest of North America. I think other Europeans haven't been able to use it either.
