I don't know about lies, but that darn, brilliant configurator has cost me a lot of money.
Lies the configurator tells you
If one uses the US configurator, the image of the car's exterior shows clear side marker lights and no satellite radio antenna. In reality, US models get amber marker lights and all have satellite radio. I suspect the antenna is not shown to make the car look cleaner, along with using the European version with clear side markers is used (even though one can alter the appearance of small features on the car by selecting certain options).

Lucky for us that still haven't ordered as yet, odds are we can see a configuration similar to what we want sitting at a local dealer. Better to confirm with a real 718 before sending in your order, even speaking to sales people at your dealer.
What's the satellite radio antenna?
Now I see it. Never really thought about it. Not as obvious as my earlier cars - integrates quite well.
In my experience, the configurator renderings reflect the European version of the car, and they do not attempt to tweak it for regional differences.
