So I really hate the little clickbait slideshows like this but I do find this curious. The topic of the slideshow is the cars that cost the most to maintain.

4. Sports Cars: Porsche 718 Cayman
RepairPal Index Score 85; average $2,370/year. The low-slung Porsche Cayman coupe is the costliest model to maintain and repair, according to RepairPal.com, at a projected average $2,370 a year. That’s more than twice the estimated cost of keeping up a 911 at $1,154.
First, that makes the pre-paid maintenance sound good. Second, I wonder what's driving this. I don't know anything about "RepairPal".

How could the yearly maintenance be higher than a 911? The 911's tire cost is significantly higher than a Cayman. Some bogus reporting going here.

Tires might be included in their calculation. If so it probably can’t be compared to a pre paid maintenance plan.

And therein lies the rub: We have no idea what Repair Pal's methodology is, and a quick scan of its website doesn't offer up that info at all.

It looks like a legit site -- sort of like a Cars.com for auto repair. But to compile a list such as that without a stated methodology is heinous on the part of Yahoo.com and Motor1.com. This smacks of online business partnership between the entities.

Of note: a quick scan of RepairPal-certified shops in my area revealed absolutely zero Porsche dealers. It's all indies -- which, as we all know, have very limited experience with 718s. That could easily drive the costs up temporarily.
