I went with the standard interior on my 718C, which included the polished aluminum interior trim. Had I known then what I know now, I would have switched to the brushed aluminum interior, including the brushed aluminum gear shift lever. The problem is that the standard aluminum is very reflective so, depending on the time of day/travel direction, I can get a lot of sun reflection throughout the cabin, even though I have a Cayman.

Newbie here - GTS hopefully arrives mid June ? Going through the final/final on the order this option is - free

Anyone go with the Brushed Aluminum Gear Lever - does it look OK ?

Well, congratulation in advance! The waiting is difficult. I also ordered a CGTS (getting it in two weeks) and I opted for the carbon fiber steering, so this is the only reason I got the carbon fiber gear lever. If I was to opt for a leather steering wheel, I would have definitely chosen the Brushed Aluminum Gear Lever. I saw one in real and it is much better looking than the regular one. It feels expensive. I suppose it is not that popular on the 718 because its expensive and everyone has to choose his battles when it comes to choosing the options. But on the GTS, it is much cheaper because its an upgrade from the already expensive alcantara Gear Lever that is standard on the GTS. Maybe you want to se one before deciding. Let us know when you get i and post some pictures. Good luck and enjoy!

Are we talking manual or PDK? I drove a Cayman with an [non-brushed] Aluminium PDK gear lever and it was far nicer than the standard PDK gear lever as it is a completely different design.

I would love to see some actual pics of the manual gear lever in brushed aluminium as this is something that I have considered.

I added the brushed aluminum package to my original build before the lock date for the very reason you describe. I didn't add the b/a gear shift though. Based on the pictures in the configurator, to me they looked pretty much the same as the standard gear shift (although that may not be the case in person).
