Comparison is critical the measure twice and cut once principle. Buy the car you want and can afford from the get go and avoid the resale/depreciation hit in round two. The other thing I would recommend, based upon my recent resale experience, is see if you could find a low mileage/lightly used 718; this approach would yield the best value for the buck.

Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you're considering adding a Porsche to the stable, and I don't think you could go wrong with either model, depending on your preferred budget and performance expectations.
